​Frequently asked questions

• What does the free class entail?

For all brand-new students, you will receive a free, one-on-one, instructional class. We will come to you at a time and place that is convenient for you, depending on instructor availability. After you have seen what we can offer, we can review ​membership terms and conditions as well as relevant waivers and fees for membership and further instruction.

• How much are the classes? ​

Weekly class membership is $60/month after a one-time $30 sign-up fee. Membership fees are paid monthly, we do not tie you into any long-term contracts. Any other fees such as testing fees or required equipment purchases will be clearly relayed to you well in advance and are dependent on rank and advancement. Private group or one-on-one classes are available, please contact us for current pricing.

• Where do you serve?

The main service area for Fuzion Martial Arts is Brentwood and the surrounding locales (Discovery Bay, Antioch, Pittsburg, and Bay Point).
Our specific location will be provided after the one-on-one free trial class. Instruction beyond the service area is available upon request at an additional charge, based on distance from our service area. Please contact us for current pricing.

• Do you offer children's classes?

Currently, we do not offer dedicated children's classes. We do offer instruction for minors 11-18 years of age with special restrictions. Please be aware, minor members will require parental presence and/or participation as members, depending on the age of your child. Please also note that instruction will be in mature themes of violence and self-defense and will take place in a blended class of adults.

• What do I need to bring?

Just bring yourself and your good attitude! We will provide limited equipment for classes, and we will let you know of any required equipment in advance of needing it. You can purchase your equipment from anywhere you like, but we can provide a small discount for orders made through Fuzion for items from Century Martial Arts.  Further information will be provided as a part of membership.

• Do I need to test/rank in Small Circle Jujitsu?

We encourage you to do so! There is nothing more satisfying than achieving a new rank as you progress in your skill and knowledge. It is a reward for all your hard work. To increase in rank, membership in parent organization of Small Circle Jujitsu (SCJ) will be required. However, if you do not want to test or join SCJ, as of now, we do not require you to do so. The content of the instruction will be the same regardless.

​Membership with SCJ is required for any camps or seminars hosted by Fuzion Martial and/or Small Circle Jujitsu. We reserve the right to require membership in Small Circle Jujitsu later, which will be communicated well in advance of any such effective date.

self-defense workshops

Fuzion Martial Arts offers specialized workshops for women's self-defense, both for teenagers and adults. These are fully customizable to any requests of the participants. Perhaps something recently made you uneasy, or you wonder "What if...?" in a certain situation. We can help you and create a workshop that is tailored to you and covers your specific concerns and can even adjust on the fly during the workshop itself.

In addition to physical self-defense techniques, all our workshops will also cover other various aspects of self-defense, such as awareness, identifying potential dangers and predators, safety measures, escape strategies, and legal concerns. Work function, social group meeting, or a girls' night out, why not have fun while also learning vital self-defense skills?
